Wandering around Turopolje

If you want to get closely acquainted with our beautiful Turoplje, where one can see so much beauty on such a small area, we advise you to take our trips "Wandering around Turopolje" .

1. Let’s be healthy, our noble county!

In a beautiful Turopolje plain one stands breathless looking at St. Barbara’s Chapel in Velika Mlaka, which was made by local craftsmen. After three centuries it is still there like a lighthouse surrounded by many new developments. After a visit to the chapel, the path will lead you further to the remains of Roman city Andautonia. Who knows what else is hidden under the ground on localities of Gradiš?e and Kutelo in Š?itarjevo, a village eight kilometers apart from Velika Gorica. Then, when you return to Velika Gorica, your glance will go above the roofs and it will fall onto the tower of the Parish Church of the Annunciation of Blessed Virgin Mary. Centuries are passing by, and there it stands upright, keeping history in its walls, and watching closely with its protective glance at the Turopolje plain.

And finally, you can’t overlook the Museum of Velika Gorica if you want to learn more about the history of these regions.
